Ever since the Sims’ first release back
in 2000, it has been widely popular among gamers. Players love the idea of
playing “God” to these virtual characters and make them do whatever they
please. From stealing cars and burning houses down, to owning clubs and build
resorts; the possibilities are endless. Gamers can also be whoever they want
to, from an astronaut to even becoming a rock star. Some gamers love the Sims
games so much that “becoming addicted” to them is just simply putting it
lightly.
5.
You Own All the Games
If you have every single game of the
whole Sims series then not only are you a diehard fan but you’re also a bit
obsessed. In addition there are different versions of the game itself. Sims,
Sims 2 and Sims 3 each have their own expansion packs that can only be operated
according to their original gaming data. In order to be able to play all of the
games, the gamer either has to get multiple computers or laptops (since a
couple dozen of them can be played on PCs) or has a game system with a very
high amount of memory on it. Either way, that is too much to carry just to play
one game.
4.
You Start to Visualize the Plumbob on Everyone’s Heads
When the gamer has already created their
Sim and moved them into a home, in order to distinguish which characters belong
to the creator, a green diamond called plumbob is placed above the Sims’ head.
You know the Sim character belongs to you when you see the plumbob. After
playing the game for many hours however, you start to imagine everyone having
the same green plumbob as your Sim does. That’s one sign you know you’ve become
addicted to the game.
3.
All Your Sims Resembles Actual People in Your Life
Have an annoying boss or an
ex-girlfriend you couldn’t stand? Make a Sims version of them and torture them.
Actual gamers have done that. They make a Sim resemble a person that they can’t
stand and then afterwards make them suffer by starving them to death or
drowning them. Also gamers have created Sims based on their favorite
celebrities as well.
2.
You Can Do the Sim Dance
At this point, if the gamer can actually
do the Sim dance, then it’s totally obvious that they not only are obsessed but
also have no life as well. (It can also be a guilty pleasure of theirs.) The
Sim dance is not special; it’s just a series of hilarious moves that is totally
funny to watch. Sims moves to the beat with their pelvic thrusts, shoulder
moving and finger snapping their way to try and dance.
1.
You Can Speak “Simlish”
Simlish is the native language of the
Sim characters. Supposedly it’s English but backwards. If the gamer can
actually talk Simlish then that’s the biggest sign that they are addicted to
the Sims games.
