For this month, it’s all about chowing down on a nice hot bowl of oatmeal. In recent years, the increase use of oatmeal for breakfast drew people in because of its health benefits. Along with a history of oatmeal usage in Scottish tradition; Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and even Vermont are big fans of oatmeal.

  • Oatmeal is a source of protein.
  • Oatmeal helps reducing heart disease.
  • Irish oatmeal is also known as steel-cut oatmeal.
  • U.S. Department of Agriculture recommends that adults eat a minimum of three to four servings of whole grains daily.
