is sung by 78 Violet which at the time was Aly and AJ. Straight from their
second album, Insomniatic, the song never did become a hit single. This song
was written by Aly Michalka, AJ Michalka, Antonia Armato, and Tim James.
From the start of this song, the style of the
melody sounds like those 1950’s breakup songs. The tune is consistent throughout
as the duo’s vocals really matches up to the beat and tempo. There are no extra
unnecessary notes and the harmony between Aly and AJ are good.
Even though their audience is mostly consisted
with Disney fans, lyrically this song is up to par with 78 violet. “You chose
to surrender/the best thing that’s happened to you/what were you missing/were
you just tripping/running away from your fear/was the best you could do/you
made this decision/you chose your division”.
The song has a little bit of math word play
but it’s done well without making it sound too cheesy. It’s not an “I hate you”
breakup song but it’s actually more like “So long good bye and good luck” kind
of tune which is to be expected from 78 Violet.
Over all this song is definitely 3 out of 5
stars.
