Written by Andrew Borger and Daru Oda, "Above Ground" is on Norah Jones' second album, Feels Like Home.

"Above Ground" is about wanting to be with the guy of her dreams. Of course she's too hesitant to tell and show her feelings to the guy so she keeps her emotions hidden. Even though she's hiding her feelings for him, she really wants to confess her love to him.

"Oh the air feels heavy/everything just passes by/and i think that I'm a little shy/meet me outside above ground/i see you on your way/I'll be with you someday, someday..."

The rhythm and melody to "Above Ground" has a pleasant sound. It's a typical melancholy Jones' tune as it sets the tone of a more intimate session. Even though the lyrics are good, the song would have been more better if Jones wrote it herself. Vocally, her sultry voice is perfectly dead on when it comes to adding a slow lullaby-like atmosphere.

This song gets a rating of four out of five stars. With good vocals and a nice tune that brings on a nice intimate feel, "Above Ground" is a good song to listen to.
