Written by Kelly Clarkson, David Hodges and Ben Moody, "Addicted" is on Clarkson's second album, Breakaway.

"Addicted" is about being in an unhealthy relationship but for some reason she can't bear to let him go. No matter how many times she tries to get away, he's always around her.

"It's like I can't breathe/it's like i can't see anything/nothing but you/I'm addicted to you/it's like i can't think/without you interrupting me/in my thoughts/in my dreams/you're taking over me/it's like I'm not me/it's like I'm not me..."

This song does have an interesting melody to it. In the beginning it starts off slow, following the tone of Clarkson's vocals and as the song progresses, it becomes intense. The music to "Addicted" simply portrays Clarkson's emotions. With the lyrics, they're dark and full of pain which helps to make the song more heartbreaking. Thanks to Ben Moody, his lyrical style brings out the song's inner darkness. Vocally, Clarkson does a good job bringing the song to life. Her vocals are full of emotion of pain and hurt that "Addicted" may become a favorite song to some listeners who are a fan of vulnerability.

Over all, this song gets a rating of five out of five stars for good melody, great vocals and good lyrics.
