Written and sing by Avril Lavigne; 4 Real is on her fourth studio album, Goodbye Lullaby.



4 Real is about being in a relationship where the love is so powerful that Lavigne does not want the emotion to end. She fears that what they are feeling might slip away so she tries desperately to hold on to it as much as she can.

"Cause I'm for real/Are you for real?/I can't hep myself/It's the way i feel/When you look me in the eyes like you did last night/I can't stand to hear you say goodbye/Well it feels so right/Cause it feels so right just to have you standing by my side/So don't let me go/Cause you have my soul..."

Even though the melancholy, slow paced song is an ideal melody for this tune, it tends to get boring and drags on. The lyrics are a fair match to the beat and is in a typical Lavigne style when it comes to her love songs. Her vocals are decent as well but she could do better. Yes she does have a high note towards but it sounds forced just for the sake of making it emotional.

This song gets a rating of two and half stars out of five. This song has its potential of being a powerful ballad but it feels like Lavigne's vocals doesn't add any emotion. The lyrics are decent but the melody is boring.
